WHOOP integration · Available now

Bring WHOOP context into your wellness journal.

Authorize KnowsYou to read supported WHOOP recovery, sleep, cycle, workout and body-measurement data. It appears beside the meals, activities, habits, goals and routines you record with the AI agent.

WHOOP values keep the limits of their source. Recovery, strain and energy figures are not clinical measurements, and a recent record may not appear until it has synced.

After connection

Up to 90 days of initial history

The first import is queued after authorization. Its coverage still depends on what WHOOP makes available to your account.

After that

Events plus 30-minute reconciliation

Supported WHOOP updates can trigger a targeted refresh. A scheduled reconciliation checks the recent seven-day window every 30 minutes.

A manual Sync now control is also available in Settings.

Imported data

The current connection has a defined scope.

KnowsYou imports the fields below when WHOOP returns them. Pending, unscorable, missing or unsupported values stay missing rather than being invented.

Recovery

WHOOP-reported recovery score, resting heart rate and HRV are imported when those values are available for a scored recovery.

Sleep

Sleep sessions and naps can include timing, stages, sleep need and WHOOP performance, efficiency and consistency values. KnowsYou derives asleep time from in-bed time minus awake time.

Cycles and strain

Cycle timing, strain, average and maximum heart rate, and WHOOP-reported energy are stored when supplied by WHOOP.

Workouts and activities

Supported workouts can include sport, timing, strain, heart rate, distance, altitude, recording coverage and heart-rate zones. Eligible detected workouts can also become completed activity records.

Energy estimate

KnowsYou converts WHOOP-reported cycle energy from kilojoules to kilocalories and labels it as a connected-source estimate—not a direct metabolic measurement.

Weight and height

A positive WHOOP weight can become a dated weight record. WHOOP height fills the KnowsYou profile only when no height is already saved; it does not overwrite an existing value.

Detected-workout rules

To reduce duplicate or noisy activity records, KnowsYou skips generic and strength categories, detections shorter than ten minutes, and a detected workout that overlaps a user-logged activity of the same type. The user's own record wins.

Connection flow

Connect once, then see when the journal last refreshed.

The connection is managed from Settings on the web or mobile application. It is periodic rather than a guaranteed live stream.

1Start in Settings

Choose Connect WHOOP from the Integrations area.

2Approve at WHOOP

Review WHOOP's authorization screen and grant the requested access.

3Import history

KnowsYou queues an initial import covering up to the previous 90 days.

4Review sync status

Settings shows the last successful sync, any current error and a manual refresh control.

Permissions

Read access to specific WHOOP categories.

The current authorization request covers a basic WHOOP profile, cycles, recovery, sleep, workouts and body measurements. It also requests offline access so server-side credentials can refresh for ongoing sync. KnowsYou does not request a WHOOP write scope.

Your permission still sets the boundary

Imported coverage depends on the access you grant, your WHOOP account, score state and the fields returned by WHOOP. Removing permission or an upstream outage can interrupt refreshes.

Connection security

Credentials stay on the server.

Authorization uses a random, one-time state that expires after ten minutes; only its digest is stored. Access and refresh tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage, are never returned to the web or mobile client and never enter agent context.

Timestamped, signed WHOOP webhooks are checked before an update is accepted. These safeguards reduce risk, but no online integration can promise absolute security or uninterrupted availability.

Energy source boundary

WHOOP-reported energy takes priority for a covered day.

When a finite, non-negative WHOOP daily energy value is available, KnowsYou uses it as the connected-source estimate. Otherwise the app can use its documented profile-based fallback; if neither source is available, the value stays unavailable.

A week or month can therefore contain WHOOP-sourced days, profile-estimated days and unavailable days. Logged food energy and estimated expenditure can both be incomplete, so their difference is also an estimate.

Disconnecting

Stop future access without silently erasing history.

When you disconnect, KnowsYou attempts to revoke the WHOOP grant and always removes its local connection credentials. Future syncs stop. Records already imported into your journal remain until they are deleted through a supported control or account-data request.

What this integration does not mean

A missing recent day can mean that the source has not synced yet; it does not prove the device was not worn. KnowsYou does not independently validate WHOOP values, promise real-time delivery or turn wearable estimates into clinical measurements. Use this connection for general wellness context, not diagnosis, treatment decisions or continuous monitoring.

Connect WHOOP from KnowsYou Settings.

Add supported wearable context to the same journal you use for meals, activities, habits, goals and routines.
